| At Simon Haysom LLC, we strive to be, very simply, first class lawyers in the area of debtor and creditor law.
This means providing excellent bankruptcy service in prompt, supportive, and a completely up to date manner reflecting the latest changes in the law. It also means being able to provide excellent non-bankruptcy alternatives, so as to protect our client's assets when bankruptcy is not possible, to oppose foreclosures on our client's homes, to restore their credit worthiness, and to negotiate debt reduction agreements. We must also be sufficiently knowledgeable and skillful as litigators to protect or compensate our clients in those cases where there has been abuse by insurance companies, banks, and other large entities against whom debtors, typically in distress, have real difficulty defending their rights.
Most clients will tell us that a distinctive feature of our practice is that we are guided by what is in their best interest, on the assumption that what is best for them is also best for us. Of course, this also means that we need to pick clients who honor our contract. We give first class service, with a ratio of legal fee to payoff in a typical range of a 20-1. Our office is prompt, and prepared to be aggressive when that is a necessary component of our clients' overall strategy. Above all we must be creative in defining the overall problem and the legal and even non-legal solutions. We look at our client's total problem, even when our own brief is to efficiently deal with the legal part of that problem. We believe it is impossible to establish a credible rapport with judges and fellow practitioners if we do not act with integrity.
